Helsinki Metro

The Helsinki Metro is being extended from Ruoholahti to Espoo via Lauttasaari.

The first stage saw the completion of a 14-km-long track from Ruoholahti to Matinkylä and eight new stations. These stations are Koivusaari and Lauttasaari in Helsinki as well as Keilaniemi, Aalto University, Tapiola, Urheilupuisto, Niittykumpu and Matinkylä in Espoo. The Matinkylä–Kivenlahti section of the West Metro is the next 7-km-long stage in the construction of the West Metro. The new stations are Finnoo, Kaitaa, Soukka, Espoonlahti and Kivenlahti.
